Chewy’s OBX vacation by Chewy’s Mommie- 10/10/2010 This review is for anyone considering boarding their pet while staying at a non pet friendly location in the Outer Banks. We made reservations at a resort 14 months ago with no clue that we would need to take our baby Chewy with us on vacation. However, about 8 weeks ago Chewy was diagnosed with stage 3 renal failure and everything changed for us and our baby. We have a wonderful kennel at home but, we didn’t want to be 800 miles away from him so I checked out every boarding facility in the area and fortunately selected Martin’s Point. Although initially I was very concerned about leaving my baby with strangers my worries went away as soon as we arrived. They were wonderful with Chewy and we loved being able to take him on day trips throughout the week. The best thing was how he never minded returning for the evening to Martin’s Point. They gave him so much love while he was there we can tell he had a great stay! We would recommend Martin’s Point to anyone and we are very picky about Chewy’s care. As a bonus; they are also very conveniently located with flexible hours and reasonable prices. Martin’s Point was more than we could have ever hoped for!!

quick & reasonable care for out-of-towners by KDM- 08/05/2009 Our dog had an allergic reaction to something at our beach house in Corolla – either a bug bite or simply the new flora/fauna of our environment – and broke out in hives. She was miserable, and we were worried both for her and for our checkbook if we had to use a vet on vacation. Not only was the care we received OUTSTANDING, it was incredibly reasonable – as far as we could tell, NO MARK-UP for out-of-towners/tourists. The rates were about the same as our home vet in Blacksburg, VA, which also has a vet school at Va Tech. Our dog is also very shy/scared around new people, especially vets, and she warmed right up to the vet at Martin’s. If we were local, we would use this vet for our regular care.

Veterinarians Extraordinaire by Wheelers- 05/29/2009 Martins Point Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful facility, not only for pet care but as important for boarding facilities. We just spent the week in Duck and our 9-month old puppy stayed at Martins Point. He was well cared for and the one-week stay allowed us the time to have him neutered and recover from his surgery without the stress of being around his brother and sister. We would bring any of our pets to Martins Point and, in fact, have already recommended them to other family members and friends.

Wonderful by Scout- 04/04/2009 Have taken our pets to Martn’s Point for 14 years. I can’t give them enough praise! Wait time is long, but service is excellent.Our pets are always happy to go there. When they board there, they always come hope happy and in a good mental state.
